Speaker 1:

Welcome. Welcome back to another edition of uploaded and unfiltered the podcast in which I your host, jermaine, interviews another content creator. Regards to the journey thus far, not only do we do interviews, but we also talk about mindset, concepts, tips and tricks on how to get your content done and other fuzz and stuff regarding the content creation world. Today is going to be a quick one because I am kind of behind on everything that I'm trying to do right now. We are currently kind of in the middle of not only putting our house up for sale but also looking at houses in the location we're trying to move. Also, I started a new youtube channel, so I've been shooting content for that, editing it. Also. We've been trying to keep this podcast up for one a week for the until we run out of time, and I've been on top of that and also I've been streaming and also there's my kryptonite youtube channel and also tiktok, and there's two tiktok channels. There's an instagram channel. There's actually two instagram channels. I've been neglecting. I say all that to say this there is a lot and typically back in the day I would be freaking out right now shutting down because there's so many things to do, but I'm going to go back to a concept I spoke on not too many episodes ago, but I have a task list. This task list allows me to not freak out in times like this and everything has been running smoothly so far. Getting this podcast up today, my edited all the fun stuff that I need to do get it done. So I am being mindful of the words that I'm saying, so I don't edit a lot later. I'm also practicing. So before I get into what I wanted to talk to, which is going to be TwitchCon 2024 in San Diego this year, before I get into that topic, I just wanted to touch on some of the things that I've been running through last week and how I've handled those new challenges. So I have a new YouTube channel, maybe not new to some of you, but new to most Radiant Reflection, no S, radiant Reflection. That is my coaching business. I started up a YouTube channel because there's a lot of mental health concepts and just mindset concepts in general that I want to start talking about. That I talk to my wife a lot about and I need to start sharing that with people who would it would benefit from. So my bad for for holding out on that content, but it is coming.

Speaker 1:

But the first video I put up was one that I written a script for and it essentially I recorded myself reading the script, pausing, cutting, and the end result is what you see it Now. I did a little bit of editing when it comes to zooming in and out just to emphasize some of the things that I was saying through a music track behind it. Thankfully, the new DaVinci Resolve allows you to just right click the music track list, say duck, and then you're good to go. But other than that, it was a challenge for me because it's been a while since I have shot a piece of content where I was reading off a script, and even longer because I've only did it three times and every time for lack of a better word, it was terrifying. I had built this up in my head so large that when it was come the time to execute, I was tripping over my words. It took me like an hour and a half to shoot that video. Then it took another three or four hours to edit it. So this next go around, I have a video I'm editing right now.

Speaker 1:

I took a different approach. I still wanted to have a structure as far as a hook, big problem, objectives, all that fun stuff. But I didn't want to read verbatim what I had written. I found that I go into this thing a lot where, as I'm talking about the subject matter I'm talking about, I start to get in my own head and I'm like yo, did I miss something? Are they understanding? Am I explaining it well enough? And that starts to trip me up. So I always like to write down what I'm going to say in order to sound more authoritative, to sound like I know what I'm talking about. Even though I know what I'm talking about, I feel like it's my job to convince other people to know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1:

So, first video I did the script, I did it, I edited it, and if this was any other time in my life, I would have shut that shit down because it was not to the standard that was in my head. But I need to make mistakes. I need to put content out there and then reassess. Once I get feedback or once I go through the process, I'll know what I like and I didn't like. So that's what happened with this first video. I am proud of it. I'm glad I got it out there. I was talking a lot of good stuff that a lot of people need to hear.

Speaker 1:

But this next episode, this next video that I'm doing, is on getting started, even if you don't feel ready to do so, and it was very exciting for me to get in there and actually talk my knowledge to the camera. So this time I went a different approach. I did an outline and I wrote bullet points for the things I wanted to say and the things that I did not want to forget. I written out and I read those, but for the most of it it was off the top of my head and I feel like those videos feel more genuine and I feel like I can showcase my personality a little better and and build a better connection when I'm not sounding robotic and that's not a robotic, but you know what I'm talking about. So that one is in the middle of being edited. I will have that one done before the end of this week. Hopefully I get it done tomorrow and share that with the world.

Speaker 1:

Now on to TwitchCon. So my goal at TwitchCon is to talk to as many creators as possible, start networking, because I want to get into streaming more than I've been in this past, but I want it to be a focus type event. I want it to be like a once a week, maybe twice a week, event, like if you miss it, you miss it, there is no more. I'm streaming Monday, tuesday, wednesday and all that bullshit. I'm not feeling that anymore, unless a game comes out that I really want to like provide content for. I feel like my streams are going to turn more into events rather than, uh, a tv show that you catch every day on tnt. I don't know what I'm talking about right now, but you get what I'm saying event based streaming. I think that should be fun. So when I hit the Twitch con, shout out to Sham Bam. Thank you, ma'am. They're letting they and the network. We're staying in a Airbnb together and I is going to be fun. I am staying with two adults who know the value of sleep and know the value of being responsible, so I cannot wait to make that happen.

Speaker 1:

I don't know it yet, but I'm gonna be bringing my microphones. I'm actually let me get into that right now. So the secondary goal of twitch con is to shoot content for my various channels. So the first item that I will be bringing is my m650 anchor work microphones. It's a wireless microphone setup from anchor works and I absolutely love it. It comes with two microphones. It comes with a receiver that you plug into your phone. If you have a lightning enabled phone, you can use the data adapter. But if you are smart and got one with usbc, comes with that as well. I don't know how long the wireless microphones last, but it also comes with a charger case that, once you put everything in the case and close it, it charges both both microphones and a receiver. What else is dope about this? I think you can go up to 650 feet away from your shooting device. It's still capture audio.

Speaker 1:

The reason why I love these microphones so much is a you can just take off the back and magnetically clip them to a shirt or a collar or anything like that. If you really need to, you can put in a lapel or a lavalier a lavalier mic as well as a wind screen. But the most important part is they sound amazing. They have built-in noise cancellation. There's two of them, they're always charged, always ready to go and they just look cool. I just like the way they look. There's a little circular disc and the grill up top is where the microphone is, and other than that it's dope, you can actually change out the face plates on these microphones. They come with some, but I don't think you could buy new ones, but these are the ones I'm going to use when I'm interviewing somebody face to face or if I could. Just I forgot the other dope part. So not only can you record audio to your phone, but it has a built in recorder so you can actually record to the receiver, so you can have two sources of audio, which is going to come in handy when I don't feel like pulling out my phone but I want to catch some audio for the podcast. Just whip these things out, do the little thing in front of you and you're good to go.

Speaker 1:

Now I think I'm going to buy a microphone holder just for those people who don't want to pin the microphone on them, or if I don't feel like pinning a microphone on somebody, I just be like here's a microphone, I'll just bust out one and just back and forth with it. But, uh, definitely bringing these highly recommended. I think they're like 250 bucks, but I caught them on sale for like 175 something, something like that. I should put a link to this in the bio. You know what? I'm putting a link to this in the podcast description. If you are interested in picking yourself up an Anchorworks wireless microphone set, definitely check this one out. I love it. It's my favorite. If it ever broke, I would definitely buy a new one. That's how much I believe in this system. Yes, I know DJI has one and there's a few other iterations out there, but so far this one has been my favorite.

Speaker 1:

Next up, I am bringing this amazing Infinity 360 Flow Pro gimbal for my iPhone and I. This thing is so much fun. If you have an iPhone, I highly recommend getting one of these. I forgot how much it costs, but if you shoot content on the fly, and especially if you want to do, let's say, vlog content with your phone, this device automatically tracks you. With the built-in DockKit software that is built into iOS, apple just released the API to allow third parties to get access to it and with this gimbal, all you got to do is take your phone, hold it up to the device. It pairs NFC.

Speaker 1:

Then you open up the native iPhone app camera. Then you open up the native iPhone app camera. Then you open up the native camera app and then you touch the trigger once and then there's a light on the device that turns green. There's a ring of light that turns green and then it's tracking you. You can move all around the world. You can move all around the room and the phone will track you with the software built into your phone and the magic of the gimbal.

Speaker 1:

It comes with a built-in your phone. And the magic of the gimbal comes with a built-in tripod. Uh, it's kind of crap, but it gives you more holding room on the gimbal itself. If you have big hands like me, I highly suggest getting another uh tripod. I have a few tripods. I'm going to bring two of them. One is a smaller one and one that extends longer if I needed to.

Speaker 1:

But I am going to be shooting all types of content at TwitchCon with this device. The plan is to shoot a vlog every day, essentially start the day off with some live content, then, throughout the day, just capture the essence and the feel, the vibe of TwitchCon. At the end of the day, do a wrap-up video to capture everything that I did, just in case I forget it, and then, when I get home, I'll edit all that stuff into a beautiful vlog. I cannot wait. I'm excited to shoot this vlog. It's been a while since I shot a vlog. They've always fascinated me. I believe I think it was Casey Neistat. He was the first person I saw do a vlog in so many different, varied ways. It kind of sparked this interest in my head, so I'm definitely bringing that back. Go check out the Kryptonite channel if you want to see some old keto-esque weight loss journey vlogs. Those were fun to do. I might actually go back and watch some of them just to get some inspiration and watch them just to get some inspiration. But other than that, if you are going to TwitchCon 2024, I believe it's about 17 days away. Actually I think it's September 20th through the 24th If you see me, come talk to me.

Speaker 1:

I'm a hugger, so if you like to hug, I will hug back. I definitely like to talk. Obviously, I have my own podcast and I'm definitely interested in networking. So if you have an idea for a concept or a piece of content that you want to do and I can help, hit me up. If you have a stream idea that you want to bang around or you actually want to do, hit me up. And, most importantly, if you are in a mental health journey or you are looking or you're looking to actually start that journey and you want help with that. You can hit me up before twitchcom, but definitely hit me up if you see me there. I can't say this enough having the clarity of wanting to help people make more content has made a lot of things when it comes to content creation easier for me, because I know what the end goal is. So with that, I'm going to go ahead and sign off for now.

Speaker 1:

13 minutes, that's not bad. That's not a bad podcast. The next two episodes are definitely going to be guests. I'm not going to spoil who they are, but I cannot wait to talk to them. I talk to them every Thursday, but that's it. That's all I'm going to tell you. If you know, you know other than that. I appreciate you listening. Thank you for tuning in and believing in this project that I'm doing here. I know there's a billion podcasts out there and you can be listening to anyone that you want, but you chose to listen to this one, and that I appreciate. Other than that, you know what to do if you haven't already. Go ahead and subscribe to the podcast. Share the podcast with other creators who probably benefit from conversation like these and more, and, as always, protect your mental. Keep creating content and I'll talk to you in the next one. Peace.
