Ever wondered how a major life transition can shape your mindset and creativity? Join me, Jermaine, as I unpack the whirlwind of moving from sunny Florida to vibrant North Carolina. I promise you'll gain insights into maintaining a positive outlook amidst the chaos and negativity that comes with such a big change. This journey has not only been a physical move but a valuable lesson in resilience and the power of keeping focused on your end goals, even when life throws curveballs. Along the way, I also stumbled onto new opportunities in content creation that I can't wait to share with you, including the exciting world of TikTok shopping.

Speaker 1:

Welcome. Welcome back to another episode of Uploaded and Unfiltered, the podcast in which I, your host Jermaine, interviews another content creator in regards to their journey thus far. Today is going to be another solo episode and probably for the foreseeable future, I think the next two or three weeks are going to be solo episodes because we are finally 10 days away from moving out of Florida to North Carolina. I cannot wait. This whole process has taught me a lot about myself, about mindsets, about mindsets of others, like hearing people talk and hearing all of their negative thoughts or their small mindsets of others. Like hearing people talk and hearing all of their negative thoughts or their, their small mindsets in regards to where we're moving and why we're moving and all of their worries and all that stuff. It was interesting to see it and be able to live in this space where I can see. I can see both sides. I can see the positive side, I can see the negative side, and being able to choose what side I want to be on and that reacting without thinking about it has been a positive, positive change for me. I'm not going to keep you long today. It's going to be a short one because I am still in the midst of packing. We're almost done. I have a few things I need to pack. In my office I've been slowly packing my computer set up, mostly because I've been still working on stuff. Like I said, last week I got into the TikTok shop and I haven't been able to provide the focus that I want to, because, again, we're moving. I'm making calls every day, helping out with homework, doing all the life stuff on top of moving, which, again, again, I'm not complaining. This has been a fun journey so far. I can't wait until it's done, that day that we're finally in the house. It's gonna be empty, probably just for a day, but just being in that space is going to I don't know, it's gonna feel, feel different because it's something we've been thinking about for the last three years, and to just one day have a little quick meeting with the family hey, what do you want to do about living situations and end with? All right, let's just move Like it literally was like a month and the house. It was literally. I feel like it was a week that the house was on the market. I think within two or three weeks weeks the house was already under contract. Then we had stipulation where the people buying our house had to sell their condo, which again other people had negative mindsets and we're like, oh, it's gonna be so hard to sell a condo. In my mind. I'm like, no, the fuck, it's not. Like come on now. And then it wasn't. It went on the market. So it's gonna be a trickle effect of they sell their house, we sell them our house, and then we move to north carolina and buy our new home.

Speaker 1:

And again it's been a lesson for me to remember that it doesn't matter how you get to the end destination, the path there, it doesn't matter. In fact, the crazier the better for me, because I just enjoy seeing what can happen in life and seeing how things unfold. But it just reminded me to know what you want, know what that final destination is, that final end goal or a final, whatever it may be. Keep your eye on that prize and the road. There will be, the road that it needs to be to get you there. When roadblocks show up, when negative things happen on the road to that end goal, look at it as an opportunity to learn something. Look at as it is an opportunity to remember why you're doing what you're doing and that nothing is going to stop you until you get that.

Speaker 1:

And again, this whole ordeal has solidified that in my head. There was a point where the situation with the roof came up. We haven't bought a new roof ever We've been fortunate enough to not have any crazy damage when it came to hurricanes, but but it was due. I think it was a 15 year old roof and it came up and my mind was like is that it? Whatever we need to do to get this end goal is our house. That's it. And I in my mind and I still think this we didn't have any obstacles stopping us like finance money. Like, yeah, they would have came like yo, you gotta pay us a million dollars. That would have been an issue, but I still would have been like yo, we'll figure a way to get that, because there was nothing stopping us from getting in this house. So it's been cool and I now, now that energy is starting to translate into my content With the approval of getting into the TikTok shop for creators, the affiliate shop I've started to notice some trends or how things work and how I want to take my TikTok channel going forward.

Speaker 1:

Now most of my content is all over the place. I got gaming content. But one thing that I'd always done was review gadgets or toys or candy, and now I can do that with the potential of making money off it. And so I'm just right now I'm just throwing stuff against the wall. While I'm in this transition mode in my life, while we're transitioning into a new state, into a new home, I'm using this time to experiment, and it's something that you've heard on this podcast plenty of times. You should put out the content. Experiment fail, make mistakes, do it fast, learn from those mistakes. Then figure out how to do it better. So that's exactly what I'm doing with this TikTok shop. Then figure out how to do it better. So that's exactly what I'm doing with this TikTok shop.

Speaker 1:

I figure what I want to do is put out probably three to four TikTok shop related videos a week and then intersplice me and those other days that I'm not posting videos in regards to the TikTok shop. So what I mean by that is, I'll still continue to post my regular stuff, more focused than it has been in the past, but when those TikTok shop store videos come up, what's happening is, I don't know if it's the people whose product that I'm talking about or if it's TikTok himself. But those videos go further than my regular videos because they're pushing them out, because there's an incentive for them to push that video out so it might get a sale or whatever. I've already sold a couple of things on the store, just like. Basically I don't want to say playing around, but that's what I'm going to say.

Speaker 1:

I'm playing around right now trying to figure out what my strategy is going to be and like I keep just unlocking new, crazier ideas, ideas. I'm like I can, I know what the guidelines are and I know how I would like to be sold to and it's not by. Here's all the specs on this product. This is the greatest microphone in the world. No, that's not going to work. Um, I need something a little more creative and I'm the perfect person to do that for. So I cannot wait to get in that new space, figure out what my angles look like. Figure, I got so many spaces upstairs and I'll be able to shoot stuff.

Speaker 1:

But one thing I did learn is because these videos, the shop videos, are, they're one thing and one thing only to get you to buy the product I don't really give a fuck about. Like, basically I'm I'm shooting long form video but cutting them up so they're bite size and I'm shooting them in a way that when I go to edit it it's just cut this chunk, cut this chunk, cut this chunk, boom, you got four videos for these pill gummy candies that you. They're amazing. If you haven't tasted them yet, you should go check them out. Actually, go to my t TikTok channel. If you do it through the app on your phone, you'll see a button that says showcase. Go ahead and click that and then buy some shit from my store.

Speaker 1:

I will continue to put dope stuff in there Everything that's in there, except for probably one thing. I gotta go double check that because I want to be able to say everything in there I've either had or I have or I bought. I either had or I have or I bought. I haven't been shipped any samples yet, except for the one time I did get shipped samples, but I wasn't an affiliate, so that was just them being dope Shout out to Atomic Bites. But I will preference if I get a sample. But for the most part everything in that store I have bought myself. There are things on there that I was like, oh yeah, I forgot. I either bought it through them or through Amazon. Anyways, that has been going amazingly. But I have got this new sense of I want to say purpose, but this new drive, that's exactly what it is. I have a new drive to push my message out when, in regards to my um coaching company, I cannot wait to start working with creators who recognize the benefits of having a clear mental mindset, or the benefits of dealing with your mental health.

Speaker 1:

I was going to talk a little bit about perspective and I'll just touch briefly on it because I want this to be a short podcast, because I got to edit it and I got things to do. So you know what? I'm just trying to keep the streak going. You know what it is Ain't nothing going to stop me from making the podcast. It don't have to be the longest thing in the world. I'm going to make it.

Speaker 1:

But anyways, perspective. It is insane when you just sit back and think what is perspective. It is insane when you just sit back and think what is perspective? Perspective is the way that you view the world. It is the way in which, when something happens, you filter information and you decide values, emotions, what you're going to do next. All from this thing that we call perspective no-transcript things come to create our perception of the world and, like I've stated before, the perception of Black people in media is not one that I want to continue. I want to bring that power of perception back to us, back to black people who are and who should benefit from creating the perception that we want the world to see.

Speaker 1:

I just heard I think it's Kenya, I believe there's a country in Africa that is banning US cartoons because they don't want their kids acting like American kids, and I got to say like, yeah, I understand that my kids they watch cartoons, but we don't let them watch everything. They don't have free reign of YouTube. They don't have free reign of Netflix, because that sounds insane to me, like how, as you as a parent, are not aware of what your kids are watching? I'm not as aware as I want to be and I need to step that up a bit, but you should be aware of what your kids are listening to, what your kids are watching, what websites your kids are on, because they're going to see shit, and I'd rather them see shit, knowing that I know they've seen this or they got questions, or the very least they can talk to my wife about it, but I want to be aware of those situations.

Speaker 1:

It it became a lot more apparent to me how much influence the world has on us, but specifically my kids, because there are so many different touch points that I don't have control over that they interact with. So there are definitely going to be things they pick up from other people. But I want to be there for them to be like hey, dad, this is what I thought. Or if they say something that's out of pocket, I'm like hey, where'd you hear that? I'm not coming at them with anger because that's not going to help the situation, but I want them to be able to explain to me anything that they're thinking or if they have questions. I want to be able to help shape their perception in a realistic way that'll help them throughout life. So the way we perceive certain situations, the way we perceive even the tone that people talk to us, the way we perceive that can make or break our day, the way that we perceive the ability to reach our goal can make or break the long, the amount of time it takes for us to get there.

Speaker 1:

If you think that it's impossible to learn a new skill, then guess what? It's going to be super hard for you to get to the goal that you want, or if you think that everything is just set in stone and there is no such thing as I wouldn't want to say luck but luck or that miracles don't happen, then I'm telling you content creation is probably not for you. Then I'm telling you content creation is probably not for you. The crazy thing that I'm starting to learn and that I will help others learn, that we, as content creators this is the fucking name itself we are creative In order to achieve those impossible goals, in order to have those large groups of people watching our content.

Speaker 1:

You need to be creative when it comes to the hard parts quote-unquote of content creation, when it comes to things like procrastination. You need to be creative on how you're going to flip that and make it work to your advantage. I will will be helping as many tips as I can and how we can flip our brain into a mode that is working with us and not against us, and I've realized that I've been holding back when this comes to making that content. But I promise you this move once I get locked into my new location, there will be a new J germane arising with so many tips, because I've come to realize that the more you talk about things, the more it starts to seep into people's brains.

Speaker 1:

And if the people who come across my content if it's not for them, then it's not for them. Like I gotta constantly remind myself that I don't give a fuck about other people's perception of me that do not align with me. And with that power comes great responsibility. No, I was just playing With that power. I just got to remember I can make whatever content I want, because I'm making it and I'm enjoying it. There is no, oh what if there's no? What ifs? It's all what I want to put onto the world. The people who's going to be for it are going to love it and they're going to get something from it and it's going to help them move towards their journey, towards their end goal, towards their purpose in life. Why would I not help in any way that I could with that? It's going to make me a better husband. It's going to make me a better father.

Speaker 1:

To be in touch with my feelings, to be able to articulate how I feel, to not immediately get angry when situations arise that would usually prompt anger. I don't have to do that because I have the skill set to just relax and be like all right. Let me look at this. What is this real situation going on? And, honestly, there's not many things that I could think of right now that immediately just get me to anger. There is a few, and there is one that one day I'll talk about.

Speaker 1:

I mean, there's two, one or two that I thought I would never be able to like figure a way out of being angry. I never thought that I'd be able to look at the situation and be calm about it. Okay, there's one that's definitely. I will always be angry, but I know that if I'm in an angry state when I'm looking at something and if it's like especially if it's in front of me, I'm going to make a bad mistake, I'm going to make a bad decision. If I am alert, like concerned, I don't have to be angry Again. I'll say this one more time. I thought angry again. I'll say this one more time. I thought this and I know a lot of people think this if you're not angry, then you are not, you don't care and on surface, like who gives a shit? But let's think about something crazy. Let's say somebody married your best friend most people, but I don't know, most people will be angry in that situation. Sad, but anger. I'm a kid's motherfucker, you know. So in that situation I would argue that it would be better to be smart, level-headed, calm than angry In a state of anger. If somebody was in front of you, like the person who did it was in front of you, you would immediately make a bad decision if you were angry. But if you were level-, level headed, if you were neutral, you could see the situation for what it is and be like yeah, of course I'm upset, this dude murdered my friend, but I'm not about to throw my whole life away for this dude who made a bad choice. Like, there are other ways to deal with things. That's all I'm saying perspective. So, yeah, 10 more days before we move, I am.

Speaker 1:

The plan is, when we get up to Charlotte and get settled in, I plan on making. There's a board shout out to homie James the blurred, he has this scheduling board. I still haven't bought it yet because it's kind of pricey, but it allows you to put profiles in and have a basically a calendar view of the day so you can see what everybody's doing at what specific time. Because the house we're moving to is three floors. There's going to be points where we're all on three different levels of the house, so it'd be dope to know exactly where people are. And don't worry, I will have Alexis or whatever smart assistant I decide on in every room so we can do the whole intercom thing. It's gonna be dope. Everything's gonna be LED, smart LEDs. This house is gonna be crazy and you know what? The other crazy okay, I'm all over the place. I'm so fucking excited. Okay, I'm gonna start here and then we'll try to circle back. The other cool thing I'm so fucking excited. Okay, I'm gonna start here and then we'll try to circle back. The other cool thing about getting this new house is not only do we need to buy new appliances, I get to shoot content on all of the new things that we're gonna purchase, and I already have this grand plan of shooting a bunch of content.

Speaker 1:

I have a Philips Hue vs Govee Lights video that I want to work. I have a Phillips Hue versus Govee lights video that I want to work. I used to be a Phillips Hue enthusiast. I would buy them and swear by them, and no, even if they were the same price, I would go with Govee and you'll have to watch the video to find out why. Simple as that. They have a lot more than just light bulbs, which is also exciting me, which also pushed me to sign up for their affiliate um program. I still haven't heard back from them, but whatever, we're pushing forward with the idea. I'm gonna make the video. It's gonna get millions of views, millions of hits. I'll have an affiliate link to amazon in the time being, but the goal is to establish, to establish a relationship with govi because, uh, I want them to send me all their shit, basically, and I'll make video. I'm gonna make some dope kill weights. It's gonna be sweet.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, circling back to the initial thought that sparked all this, my goal is to when we get to the new spot, everything's getting redone, except for the podcast. Podcast is gonna move forward until I decide the video is a go. But my Twitch streaming is going to become multi platform streaming. Because I am going back to PC to stream from, because it gives me more flexibility to do the things that I want to do during the stream. I love streaming on the Mac, but that video is also coming too. Why I am switching back to PC from streaming on the Mac, or three reasons why pc from streaming on the mac, or three reasons why I hate streaming mac. I don't know which one will do better on youtube we'll see. Luckily I have the ability to av test uh thumbnails, so we'll see which one does better.

Speaker 1:

But so the stream gonna get revamped, which means I'm redoing all of obs. I'm redoing my visuals, probably if I can slap something together real quick, that sounds like I worked out. I just said redoing all of OBS. I'm redoing my visuals, probably If I can slap something together real quick. That sounds like I worked on it. I just said whatever It'll be, it'll be chill, it'll be real easy. Redoing my chat bot, which is going to be fun because we're going to be in a different location. I'm redoing all of my lights. Also, I'm going to have two spots to stream from, so I'm definitely gonna figure out a way to set up the camera in the other room so I can walk between rooms during the stream and shout out to chicks and giggles.

Speaker 1:

She put on this dope ass escape room through discord. I, if you don't know anything about me, I love escape rooms and she was able to show my brain the format, the outline of how you do it and, of course, the whole time, everybody, but I think I was probably the loudest one. We were throwing out ideas on how to spice this thing up a bit. I think she came away with a bunch of ideas, so I can't wait to see what the next iteration of that is. Don't know why I brought that up, but oh yeah, because I want to do an escape room in this large location, like I want to do an escape room in real life in my room. But we'll figure that out, don't still mind. You know what? Still, that idea, and let me know, you did it so I can watch it, because that sounds. See it.

Speaker 1:

Uh, next up I plan on doing, because we're moving to a location that has fiber, I'll be able to multi-stream to both all, to tiktok, twitch and youtube at the same time. That is how you grow your channels in multiple locations without wearing yourself out. So I'll be doing that. Wow, we're at 23 minutes. This will be a short one. Then I will be doing live streams on my instagram or my uploaded and unfiltered podcast. You don't follow me over there, go do it. But it's going to be probably like a 10-minute, maybe 15-minute, morning stream, monday through Friday. I'll probably start at 9, which is going to be dope. It's going to be dope, but it'll be like a live, motivational get-your-day-right let's see what goals we want to tackle today to get you in the right mindset, to get you in the start off positive, and then we'll go from there.

Speaker 1:

What else do I plan on doing? Oh, definitely there'll be weekly radiant reflection videos. So many ideas. I'm gonna be more vlogs. I think vlogging is going to actually start. I should probably shoot that video this week. I want to vlog my trip up to charlotte and just vlog the process of getting this new house, what it means to me and all that fun stuff.

Speaker 1:

A lot of content is about to start rolling out. Plus, again, I don't know if you guys understand the significance of getting into the TikTok affiliate program before, like I was way before I was supposed to, but I already know like this is a way to make some serious, quick money pretty fast based on your content. So I'm about to utilize this as an opportunity to get some revenue into my business. Seeing content and entertainment or reading reflections both, but I am excited. I feel like I'm revenue into my business being content, entertainment or reading reflections both, but I, I, I'm excited.

Speaker 1:

I feel like I'm right at the edge of just like, like when you're on a roller coaster and it's that first drop, I like that. So this is a positive thing for me. Maybe that's terrifying for you. I just thought about that, but this is about me, this ain't about you. Um, I'm right there. Some exciting things are about to happen. I just need to go. I just need to push myself forward and start the ride. I'm excited to bring all of these amazing thoughts and concepts to the world. I hope you're excited to see it. If you're not, somebody will be. God damn it. Actually, I don't hope you know what. Let's move on forward.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, if you haven't already, go ahead and subscribe to the podcast. Upload to the unfiltered. We are on your favorite podcast catcher of choice. I don't know what episode to this, but we're not missing any weeks. Again, I want to be able to say, man, I did 340 episodes straight. I and I want to be able to say, man, I did 340 episodes straight. I don't see no reason why that wouldn't happen. As long as I have my phone on me or a way to record some audio. There will be an episode coming out, but other than that.

Speaker 1:

I appreciate y'all for listening and if you gathered only one thing from this episode, please remember that what you think about yourself vastly outweighs what other people think about you. If you choose to be delusional like me, you can 100% ignore the people who do not think the way that you do it. Or, at the very least, don't waste any negative emotions those ones that take a toll on you mentally, like don't be upset at somebody because they're being mean to you. Don't be angry at somebody that you love that are treating you badly. Don't be depressed because you don't have a relationship with your dad like you think you should. All those things are things that you can just 1000% ignore, because I guarantee you they're not feeling the way that you're feeling about that situation, and that is always a part that sucks.

Speaker 1:

So pause that, let it go and keep making that content. Baby, oh, I'm delusional. What time is this? What 1am? I'm going to cut this up real quick. I'm going gonna shoot this freeze-dried candy corn video real fast and then I'm going to bed. So appreciate y'all for listening and, as always, protect your mental, keep creating content and I'll talk to you in the next one.
